Description & ecology

Old-leaf Mn of 39,000 µg/g (young leaves 24,000) — read at the primary source, Abubakari et al. (2024, preprint), which describes it as 'contrary to existing knowledge' strongly Mn-hyperaccumulating.

Cross-check flag: Zhang et al. (2026) mis-attributes this 39,000 µg/g figure to the congener G. bidwillii (which reached 24,400 µg/g); the primary study clearly assigns 39,000 to G. acmenoides. Preprint, not yet peer-reviewed.
